El fin de semana del 12 al 14 de octubre tuvo lugar en Tudela el encuentro de familias y la reunión de la AEG, con más de cuarenta asistentes, entre adultos y niños. El programa lúdico de la reunión empezó con una cena conjunta para las primeras familias que llegaron, ya el jueves.

El viernes, con algunas familias más, nos dirigimos al parque Senda Viva, que aúna parque de animales con parque de atracciones, donde pasamos un entretenido día de convivencia y diversión.

El sábado, mientras los mayores llevábamos a cabo la reunión y la asamblea, los niños estuvieron la mar de entretenidos…. Por la mañana en el colegio de los Jesuitas de Tudela, donde sus voluntarios les habían preparado juegos, actividades deportivas y entretenimientos más tranquilos. Por la tarde, al cine y a la bolera. ¡Jornada completa!

Si bien en otras ocasiones la columna vertebral del encuentro ha sido la información médica y científica, este año ha sido una reunión para compartir y comentar experiencias. Durante la mañana, empezamos con la exposición de nuestra asociada Victoria Nieto, una joven con galactosemia con mucho que contar, que nos explicó cómo fue para ella crecer conviviendo con esta condición, un punto de vista muy valioso para los asistentes, en su mayoría padres de galactosemicos.
While on other occasions the backbone of the meeting has been medical and scientific information, this year has been a meeting to share and comment on experiences. During the morning, we began with the exhibition of our associate Victoria Nieto, a young woman with galactosemia, who explained us how it was for her to grow up living with this condition, a very valuable point of view for the attendees, mostly parents of galactosemics.

Continuamos con las vivencias compartidas por la deportista paralímpica Carla Casals, que se desplazó desde Barcelona gracias al proyecto CARSpeakers del Centro de Alto Rendimiento Deportivo (CAR de Sant Cugat), que nos explicó su experiencia vital, deportiva, formativa y laboral, con cuatro Juegos Paralímpicos y un montón de medallas internacionales a sus espaldas.

La mañana pasó rápida, tanto Victoria como Carla nos transmitieron energía positiva a montones, y nos marchamos a comer con la frase del día “puede que la vida no sea la fiesta que esperabas, pero ya que estamos aquí, bailemos”.
Tras la parada para almorzar, fue el turno de la Asamblea, en qué se renovó la Junta, continuando Rosa Olivé como presidenta, Carlos Ventimilla como vicepresidente, Fina Castells como secretaria, y con el relevo en la tesorería, en qué Ainara Ecenarro sustituye a Jordi Tarruella.
The morning passed quickly, both Victoria and Carla gave us positive energy in heaps, and we left to eat with the phrase of the day «life may not be the party you expected, but since we are here, let’s dance».

Por otra parte, se comentó las actividades llevadas a cabo durante el año, y se dio luz verde a lanzarnos a las redes sociales, con un nuevo perfil en Instagram, galactosemia.es que ya de ha hecho efectivo, y la futura creación de un perfil de Twitter.Con las ideas de mejora de la AEG para el futuro, se dio por terminada la reunión, pues había que prepararse para cenar en un restaurante cercano.

El domingo, tras decir adiós a aquellos que ya emprendían viaje de vuelta, algunas familias realizaron una visita guiada al centro de Tudela, aunque la persistente lluvia aceleró la despedida, con la promesa de encontrarse de nuevo el próximo otoño 2019 en Madrid.
